Here at R Wilkes Transport & Storage Ltd we deliver for companies such as Deanestor PLC which manufacture all fixture and fittings for hospital new builds and refurbishments both NHS and private, we also deliver to health centres, dental practices, schools, colleges and prisons every single day for them.
We also have a contract in place with Sorin Group UK that supply Cardiopulmonary and oxygenator equipment to a large number of NHS trusts throughout the UK. The nature of our job with Sorin Group is to store, pick, pack and deliver their products same day on emergency call offs for critically ill patients or next day for the not so urgent supplies of stock. We will enter the NHS hospitals and deliver direct into the operating theatres within the hospital and meet up with the profusion department to load the sterile product onto the shelving within the operating theatre. All the waste packaging we collect and return to our facilities for recycling.
Bausch + Lomb are the latest company with whom we have won a contract for storage, stock control and haulage. We store all Bausch + Lomb’s Millennium and Stellaris machines and all the accompanying equipment needed to use the machines when doing eye operations. We pick, pack, and deliver the equipment on behalf of Bausch + Lomb to NHS Trust hospitals throughout the UK and also distribute to Private Clinics as well.
This is just three of the companies we store, pick and distribute for on a same day, or next day basis. We deliver and store for a further 15 companies on a contractual basis.
All of our fleet of Vehicles are fitted with Fleetmatics tracking system that is web based. The tracking system enables us to know where the vehicle has stopped, how long the vehicle had been running for, the route the vehicle has taken to its destination, cost of fuel for the duration of its run and it will also allow us to see standing traffic on any of the routes throughout the UK, this then enables us to divert our vehicles and drivers around standing traffic to get the consignments there as quickly as possible with as little holdups as possible.
The system will also provide data and MI reports for single journeys through to customised reporting by area, customer, stock, mileage.
Our company trades from 15500 Sq ft of space, which provides 48,000 cu.ft. of storage on Holmewood Industrial Estate, which is on the outskirts of Chesterfield. Our unit is racked out for the provision of storage and the warehousing of palletised goods. We are central to the whole of the UK.
